This April, CoolGreenPower and the Department of Defense started what will be a year-long base study to document the cost savings that COOLNOMIX® can deliver to air conditioning and refrigeration systems. As part of the 2014 Environmental Security Technologies Demonstration Program, devices are now installed in both Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling in Washington D.C. and Fort Bliss in Texas.

JBAB's installation energy manager, Tim Min, talked about the program, saying "Every year they have proposals and only a few get selected."  Min also explained that with new technologies like COOLNOMIX® older equipment can be as efficient as newer models without having to replace it.

For both the cooling and heating seasons, the base will turn COOLNOMIX® on and off to gauge its relative effectiveness and the consequent cost savings.  At the end of the year, the ESTDP board will determine whether to expand device installations to other bases across the country.

CoolGreenPower is excited that COOLNOMIX® is now officially installed in these bases and can begin to increase the overall energy efficiency of cooling for the Department of Defense.
