Business Analytics Internship – Fall 2019

We are seeking a business analytics student intern to assist us in developing analytics to more aggressively grow the market demand for COOLNOMIX®.  Our ideal candidate is developing a career in business analytics, has a mechanical engineering background, and is passionate about energy efficiency.

Job Type: Seasonal (W-2 Employee)

Salary: $16/hour, up to 20 hrs/wk, 12 wks

Job Duties / Responsibilities

  • Develop business analytics and dashboards to support:

    • COOLNOMIX technology installation, commissioning, and performance validation (M&V), as needed:

      • Integrate data from a variety of sources (e.g., weather, indoor comfort, sub-metered HVAC energy consumption, COOLNOMIX Connect) into our cloud based database

      • Check data quality

      • Develop diagnostic rules

      • Configure user interfaces (dashboard)

    • Ongoing Data Review

      • Prioritize findings

      • Determine root causes

      • Develop summary reports and action plans

    • Corrective Action and Verification

      • Troubleshoot issues on-site

      • Track corrective actions

      • Verify faults have been corrected

      • Estimate energy and cost savings

Qualifications

  • Actively studying for business analytics degree, ideally with undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering

  • Strong interest in energy efficiency; helping businesses and governments to avoid wasting energy and cost

  • Proficiency with data analysis tools and interest in energy measurement and verification (M&V)

  • Highly-motivated self-starter with strong planning skills

  • Prior experience with energy efficiency or HVACR is a plus

Work Location

  • Most work can be performed remotely from your home location

  • You will be provided a CoolGreenPower Office365 for Business account, that will include email, word processing, spreadsheets, file storage, etc.

  • Checkpoints will be schedule 1-2 times a week using Microsoft Teams

  • Physical meetups will be scheduled once every 2-3 weeks.

  • Out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed. This includes other software that may be required to perform the work.
